Take a boat trip on the lake to visit the ancient monasteries of Ura Kidane Mehret and Azwa Mariam, adorned with beautiful frescoes and manuscripts. Later in the afternoon, visit the Blue Nile Falls, also known as the “smoking waterfall,” and witness the sheer power of nature.

Day 3: Drive to Gondar

Travel to Gondar, the former capital of Ethiopia and home to impressive castles and churches. Explore the Royal Enclosure, a UNESCO World Heritage site, where you can admire the grandeur of Emperor Fasilides’ palace and the Debre Birhan Selassie Church, famous for its stunning ceiling artwork. In the afternoon, visit the colorful local market and learn about traditional Ethiopian crafts.

Day 4: Travel to Simien Mountains

After a hearty breakfast at your resort, we will drive to Simien Mountain National Park for a thrilling hike to one of the park’s most iconic viewpoints, known as the “Edge of the Abyss.” This trail offers breathtaking panoramic views of the deep valleys and jagged peaks that define the beauty of this UNESCO World Heritage site. Along the way, keep an eye out for the park’s unique wildlife, including Gelada baboons and Ethiopian wolves. After reaching the viewpoint, take some time to soak in the awe-inspiring scenery and capture memorable photos. In the afternoon, we will continue our hike to a nearby waterfall, where you can cool off and relax amidst the serene natural surroundings. Overnight in your comfortable lodge, surrounded by the tranquility of the mountains.

The church itself is constructed using a combination of wood and stone, creating a harmonious blend of architectural styles. Inside the church, you will be awed by the intricate artwork and religious artifacts that adorn the walls. The ceiling is adorned with beautifully painted frescoes, depicting scenes from biblical stories and Ethiopian religious traditions. Afternoon, we will drive back to Lalibela.

Our flight from Lalibela arrives at Addis Ababa after midday. Your arranged transfer will meet you at Bole Airport to pick you up from the airport for moving around the city for shopping.
