Fly back to Addis Ababa and drive to Langano, where you can discover the abundant birdlife of Abijatta Shalla National Park and enjoy a relaxing boat ride on Lake Langano. Day 1: Arrival in Addis Ababa. Addis Ababa City Tour

Upon arrival in Addis Ababa, you will be greeted by your tour guide and transferred to your hotel. After settling in, you will start the city tour that includes a visit to the National Museum to see the famous Lucy fossil, the Holy Trinity Cathedral, Entoto Mountains, and the bustling Mercato market.

Day 2: Fly to Gondar. Proceed driving to Simien Mountains National Park

Catch a morning flight to Gondar, known as the “Camelot of Africa,” where you will be met by your guide and driven to the breathtaking Simien Mountains National Park. Along the way, you will enjoy the stunning landscapes and stop at scenic viewpoints for great photo opportunities. Arrive in the park and settle into your accommodation for the night.

Day 3: Exploring the Simien Mountains National Park

Today is fully dedicated to exploring the wonders of the breathtaking Simien Mountains National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Based on your interest and fitness, you may enjoy a guided hike through the park, encountering unique wildlife such as Gelada baboons, Ethiopian wolves, and rare bird species. You will have a picnic lunch surrounded by the majestic mountain scenery before returning to your accommodation for the evening.

Day 4: Return flight back to Addis Ababa

After breakfast, drive back to Gondar, and you will have time arranged for visiting the Royal Enclosure, a collection of castles and palaces dating back to the 17th century. You will explore the famous Debre Birhan Selassie Church with its stunning ceiling artwork. In the afternoon, catch a flight back to Addis Ababa and spend the evening at leisure, perhaps visiting local markets or enjoying Ethiopian cuisine.

Day 5: Trip to Lake Langano

In the morning, you will depart Addis Ababa and drive to Langano, a beautiful lake known for its birdlife and scenic landscapes. Visit Abijatta Shalla National Park, where you can spot flamingos, pelicans, and other migratory birds. Enjoy a relaxing boat ride on Lake Langano and unwind at your lakeside accommodation for the night.

Day 6: Drive to Dinsho, the HQ of Bale Mountain National Park

Today’s journey takes you to Dinsho, the headquarters of Bale Mountains National Park. Dinsho is the best place to encounter the two endemic antelopes, Mountain nyala and Menelik’s bushbuck. Warthog, Serval, Banded barbet, and Abyssinian woodpecker can also be seen in this dense park. The Abysinnian rose is also widely rested in the Dinsho area.

Day 7: Sanetti Plateau

Rise early and venture to the Sanetti Plateau, the second highest plateau in Ethiopia, following Ras Dejen of Simien Mountains. Marvel at the stunning landscapes and enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. Explore the plateau’s unique flora and fauna, including the iconic giant lobelia plants.

Day 8: Harenna Forest

Today, journey to the enchanting Harenna Forest, a lush tropical rainforest nestled within the Bale Mountains. Take a leisurely hike through the forest, immersing yourself in the rich biodiversity and tranquil surroundings. Keep an eye out for bird species like the Abyssinian catbird and green-backed honeyguide. In the evening, relax at your accommodation surrounded by the sounds of nature.

Day 9: Return to Addis Ababa and Departure

Bid farewell to the Bale Mountains as you drive back to Addis Ababa via the scenic Arsi Mountains. Enjoy the picturesque landscapes along the way and stop at local villages to interact with the friendly locals. Arrive in Addis Ababa in the late afternoon and spend your final evening and farewell dinner before your departure.
